ABOUT US

Impact serves under-resourced children and youth in Oakland, California. Working professionals and college students volunteer to mentor children, chaperone outings, provide Children's Church services, teach STEAM enrichment classes, and tutor on a weekly basis. Impact also provides a free summer camp each year, held at an Oakland elementary school campus.

OUR STORY

We've been serving children and youth in Oakland for 25 years.

In 1997, a group of UC Berkeley alumni organized an event called SpringFest, an academic enrichment camp for children from nearby Oakland, CA. We understood the need for role models and mentors for students in underserved communities and hoped to establish connections where we would one day see them at their college graduations!

Since then, we’ve held numerous academic camps, Children’s Church services, outings to nearby museums and parks, and much more! Our aim is for each child to experience how much God loves them through each encounter we have with them!

We’re also a Christian parachurch organization run by covocational ministers from Acts2 Network. We volunteer our time developing content, preparing for our weekly program, and strategizing how to help children develop the necessary skills needed to be successful in life.
