ImpACT is a Christian-based nonprofit. Here at ImpACT, we partner with families to foster a supportive environment in which children can aspire to the future and have their character shaped along the way. Launched in February 1997, ImpACT is composed entirely of volunteers, most of whom are current UC Berkeley students or graduates. Every ImpACT volunteer serves as part of a community that is committed to providing students with devoted mentors and role models. Our program presents elementary and middle school students with a wide variety of academic and character-development enrichment classes, as we endeavor to instill an excitement for learning and a direction in life in the children we serve. Most importantly, our goal is for the children to develop positive, lasting relationships with adults and peers alike. We hope to create a safe and energetic learning environment in which each child is encouraged to reach his/her highest potential. Our regular Sunday program gives students the opportunity to experience hands-on learning that aids their academic curriculum as well as provides valuable life lessons and skills. ImpACT Teachers, Team Leads, and Volunteers are committed to providing classes, mentorship, and activities of the highest caliber to further each individual student’s personal growth. With over 200 active volunteers we offer the following programs: * A mentorship program matching 3rd graders with adults to build long-term relationships of support, encouragement and friendship. * A weekly academic enrichment and tutorial program. * A summer recreation, arts, and science program. Come join us at ImpACT!
